| Horses “I
work with the owner to formulate a short term and long term goal
for every horse in training. Each ride begins with a general
plan but I wait for the horse to fill in the details. I feel it
is important to listen to the horse each day in order to determine
where the direction of the ride should go.”
Donates a.k.a. “Mr. Perfect”. Owned by Melanie Pai and
Canaan Ranch, Donates (Diamond Hit) and Elizabeth recently
became the 2007 Markel/USEF 6-year old Reserve Champion. Last
year, they qualified for the 5-year old test with the highest
qualifying score in the nation.
Flamingo Star a.k.a “Fritz”. Flamingo Star (Fidermark),
owned by Melanie Pai and Canaan Ranch, won the GAIG/USDF First
Level Open Championship (71.2%), the SWDC Reserve Championship
at First Level (67.2%), and also earned a HDS Open Show High
Point Award (75.8%).
Valkyriez a.k.a “Val”. Valkyriez (Zoliet) is also owned
by Melanie Pai and Canaan Ranch. Val and Elizabeth swept their
classes at the GAIG/USDF Region 9 Championships/HDS Fall Show.
They won the 2007 GAIG/USDF Training Level Open Championship
(74.4%), the SWDC Training Level Open Championship (76.2%), and
HDS Open Show High Point Award for their win at First Level-Test
4 (73.4%). Earlier in the year, Val won the DG Bar cup at her
KWPN keuring, where she earned the Keur predicate.
Findermark a.k.a “Markie”. Markie (Fidermark), owned by
Melanie Pai and Canaan Ranch, is a coming four-year-old rising
star. A champion mare in hand, including success at Dressage at
Devon, Markie will begin her competitive career under-saddle
with Elizabeth in 2007.
